Happy Birthday Karen

Today was a special day for us. Julian and Louis had a mental health day and together with my mum and dad we went to Kadina to say Happy Birthday to my niece Karen. It was such a lovely day and we had such a great time.

The boys had so much fun at Karen's house with all the toys she has set up for the family day care kids she looks after.

Julian and Louis hadn't been to Kadina for a looooong time (Louis was 5 months old and Julian just over 3) so we took them into town to have a look around. Mum offered to take them to the playground whilst Karen, Dineke and I went to the quilt shops to spend all of Karen's birthday money.

We had a lovely picnic of pies and pasties in the park - it's such a lovely playground for kids!

Then we had a cup of tea at their house before heading home again. It's a longish trip but the boys coped well with it thanks to ipods and the fact that Julian got up at 4.00am to ask if we were going soon, then5.15am, then finally at 6.25am (I think he was a little excited) so they both fell asleep!

We're home again now - I left the house in a bit of a hurry this morning so I best go do some dishes and a bit of tidying.

Happy Birthday Karen!!!!

Oh, that sounds like a lovely day. It also sounds much needed after all the illness and recoveries you've been dealing with lately. Glad to hear you all had such a happy time :)

Lovely to have a family day out. The park looks amazing fun. I love your quilting blocks from a couple posts backs. You're lucky to have good classes near you.
Have you photographed the dragonfly gate yet? I'd love to see it. Though you have a pretty cool looking gate too with all the greenery around it.

sounds like you had a great day. Cool park, I'm into park spotting at the moment, as our local park has been demolished by vandals :( that dome shaped climbing thing looks very fun. I hope your feeling better, I've got the sore throat too, not much fun when you're trying to talk to someone and you can't stop coughing!
