Bugs, bugs and more bugs

We've been a bit sick in our household lately. Last week Julian and Louis were sick then on Sunday I woke up with the dreaded cold and then on Tuesday Julian woke up with the 'louis virus' as he likes to call it. So, not much has been happening here lately.

On Wednesday I managed to get to my quilting class and I have to say that despite my foggy head my blocks actually worked.

More to the point - I made triangles! I can't believe it. I'm so glad I went as I had been feeling pretty poorly but I figured I would feel just as ill at home moping around doing nothing. It was a wonderful distraction and I came away with such a sense of achievement!

I also managed to finish of Julian's scarf this week. I started it about a week ago, just using up scraps of wool I had left over from other projects. Julian commented on how much he liked it and so I decided to give it to him.

Emily is very, very jealous. She believes it would look perfect with her new orange coat. Julian's prepared to share it......at a cost.

I've almost finished the binding on my jelly roll quilt and then I think I might have to start on a quilt for one of the boys. Any ideas? I want to make a quilt that will grow with them (ie not a quilt for a little boy). Julian loves the colours of fire - yellow, orange, red and blue. Louis is not fussed but would like red in it - because red cars are fast.
Any ideas, hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Better go - I have to be in town soon to meet Emily for an appointment. I should probably leave my wallet here though as Spotlight will no doubt beckon.......

cheers

is that scarf made from jelly yarn? oooh, it's so soft!

i have the opposite to you - i need to go to spotlight and can't seem to find the time! red lace for my apron, some more yarn to start...something...not sure, but my fingers are itching to start knitting again. and i really want to start looking for colours and pattern i like for my sampler.

not that i don't have enough other projects to continue with, but your patches are so inspiring, i want to do some too!

I wish I could crochet a scarf like that! I wish I could crochet full-stop. I have several books and must sit down and try one day.

Have you thought about an Amish inspired quilt for your boys? They use a lot of strong, bold plain colours and black if you want (the black doesn't look heavy though). I wish I had my quilting books to hand (in storage!).

Thank you for stopping by and will be glad to put your name in the drawing. Your quilt blocks are great and that scarf looks so warm. It is so great to get with friends and quilt. Time flies when your having fun.
I had an antique/quilt shop for 6 years and love to quilt. I'll be posting fabric and patterns on the website, but something is wrong with the button so I'll be getting that fixed.
Have a Blessed Day,
Bonnie

You're so clever with your quilting...that's one thing I've never really done yet but I've been saving lots of artwork because I have a dream to make the kids one like Soulemama's....

hope your'e on the mend! The colours of the scarf are gorgeous.so vibrant.
I've always wanted to make a quilt with hubby's old work shirts. Just squares of plaid, stripes, checks and solids...would this type of thing suit your boys?

Great to meet you in person today ...your blocks are looking great ...as for the boys quilts what about log cabins you could use a red for one & an orange for the other & then the same colours for one side of all the blocks does that make sense??? does to me but then I know what I mean :))
