The pictures are gorgeous! But happily ever after... most butterflies only live for a few weeks, so I hope they have a great time in your garden!
My mother had some inside at Christmas, in about 5 days those caterpillars had tripled in size, boy can they eat.
I just love the beautiful jade colour of the chrysalis with its gold bits, your photos must have been taken very close to hatching
I used to watch these every year on my Nana's swanee tree at the farm when I was a wee little girl, your post has brought it all back to me, the hours of watching and waiting and shrieking with joy when the butterfly emerged.
I could not work out where you were talking about and then I saw the butterflies(vlindertjes)are,n they gorgeous it is such a pity that such a beautiful thing has such a short life but then they give in that short life such joy and that is wonderful.
