I really wanted to make apricot jam this year but I couldn't get hold of any apricots (well not cheap ones). But the other night, when I was right in the thick of getting ready for interstate visitors, and really too busy to make jam, my father came over with a bag of apricots. Fantastic! BUT, they had to be made into jam quickly. So, I quickly cut up the apricots, sugared them and left them overnight whilst I scrounged jars from my sister and the next morning, when I should have been mopping and dusting I made jam!
Do you know what I like most about my home made apricot jam? It's knowing that inside this jar is just apricots and sugar - nothing artificial - oh and maybe a bit of my sweat! lol
There's really nothing better on hot buttered toast!

I love it..
I love apricot jam.....but haven't made any in a while! For me it would be a toss up between apricot jam or vegemite on my toast!! ..........and since I don't have any (home made)apricot jam it will have to be vegemite....Enjoy!!
That looks sooooo good. I've never made jam myself, but I love when my sister-in-law gives me some of hers. Yum.
yummo! homemade jam is fabulous - you have got a few jars there, maybe enough to see you through winter?
Apricot jam is my favourite and yours looks delicious!

I want to wish you and your family all the best for 2009.
mmmmm apricot jams sounds great!!!!
Have a lovely weekend.
Mmmmm home made apricot jam nothing better. We usually get apricots from next door however this year her husband went a bit made pruning and alas not to many apricots.
Mmm I have just finished making strawberry today. zNothing like homemade jam.
Homemade apricot jam is so lovely, I don't make jam that often now, but apricot is the one I love to make. Another thing to add on to my preserve list.
take care
Pip
Mmm now that looks good...and sweat from your own hard work in the kitchen is the best ingredient.
btw no unfortunately I didn't get your email? (cridsea[at]hotmail[dot]com)?
Ooh, so breakfast's on you this week? I may have to make a special trip over sometime...
David was making plum sauce yesterday at the Forsters place, so i know the smell of boiling frut and sugar intimately. oh, and the smell of fake-tan-in-a-can, but that's another story ;)
My mum used to make apricot jam when we were kids and there was nothing quite like it! Much better that dusting and any old housework! i bet your house smelled great!
I can smell that pot simmering from here... I love the smell of fruit stewing with sugar. Enjoy your visitors and I'm sure they won't mind if the floors aren't swept or mopped now that they can enjoy homemade jam with you...
Take Care
Jodie :)
It looks so scrummy...my all time favourite spread!! (closely followed by honey)
