An Emily Update

Emily and I had a special weekend planned. We were going to go to Kadina for a quilting weekend with two of my sisters and my niece. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we were not able to go.... but we did get a bit of quilting done here.

This is Emily's quilt top

This weekend she managed to get her quilt pin basted and quilted - quite an achievement really.

Hard at work.

All she needs to do now is the binding and then it's all finished. She's already working on her next quilt. There is talk of a double bed quilt in Amy Butler fabrics. This would be beautiful, but I'm thinking perhaps a little expensive????

Her swap partner got her parcel yesterday and seems very happy with it. Emily took photos of it but unfortunately they are really blurry. Hopefully Lily will post some better photos.

David had a lovely weekend of gardening. After the little rain we had, he has been able to do some things in the garden, including planting a new vegetable garden and general maintenance work. He and the boys also planted the spring bulbs this weekend - I can't wait for spring.

We have school holidays for the next two weeks. I will enjoy the slower pace.
Here's hoping you all have a good week.

Your quilt is so beautiful Emily, love the colours and patterns you've chosen! I'm sure it will be the first of many 'works of art'
Hope you all enjoy the break from routines and look forward to seeing some bulbs this Spring!

Wow - Emily is certainly doing a great job of that quilt! Don't hurry spring tho as I want some good old winter days - cold - rain - grey and cloudy so I can enjoy being in my sewing room and hear the rain on the roof and snuggle under a quilt in the evening by the fire......btw thanks for joining in my PIF exchange....only one place left now.

Emily's quilt is gorgeous, I bet she's really pleased with it, such pretty colours. I'm dying to have a go at patchwork and quilting, as I've seen so much to inspire me on everyones blogs lately. Not sure where to start though. I need something quite simple me thinks. :o). xx
